Harrisburg， PA — January 23， 2004 — Tyco Electronics， a business segment of Tyco International Ltd， today announced that a new application is available on catalog.tycoelectronics.com. The tool allows users to cross-reference appropriate application machinery for a given component part number. 
     “There has been considerable feedback from our user community that this enhancement was necessary，” says Jim Ritz， director of E-Business for Tyco Electronics. “One of our customers’ basic needs， beyond us providing them with an appropriate component product， is for Tyco Electronics to help them find a suitable machine or other tooling to install， terminate， solder or otherwise apply the component to a wire， printed circuit board or other termination point，” Ritz continued. “This new feature helps users find information on the proper tooling for over 300，000 component part numbers on the Product Catalog at www.tycoelectronics.com.” 
     To access this new feature， users are directed to http://catalog.tycoelectronics.com. From there， click on the Part Number Search link located on the left-hand menu and enter the component part number in the Part Number Search box to reach the Part Detail screen. The Part Detail screen provides a link to the tooling information page where applicable. Instructions on the tooling information page will help identify the tooling options available for the part number entered. For more information on this feature， visit http://tycoelectronics.custhelp.com.
