The growth recorded once again this year for PCIM Europe (from 22 - 24 May 2007 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre) underlines the event’s position as Europe’s leading Exhibition & Conference for Power Electronics, Intelligent Motion and Power Quality/Energy Management.

本年度已记录的增长又一次显示出欧洲PCIM展（从2007年5月22-24日在纽伦堡会展中心）作为在电力电子、智能运动、电能质量/能源管理领域顶级展会和研讨会的地位。

The figures reflect the upward growth trend within the power electronics industry: with 249 (2006: 208) exhibitors and 57 (2006: 72) represented companies from a total of 23 countries exhibiting their wares on an exhibition area of 10,500 sqm, the event is not only bigger than last year but has also exceeded the event’s results from the last five years. The technical depth, breadth of new products and comprehensive overview of the power electronics sector provided by the event are its key strengths.

数据反映出在电力电子行业不断上升增长的趋势：249展商（2006：208）和57家（2006：72）来自23个国家的公司代表处在10,500平米的展区展示他们的产品，这次活动不仅比去年的规模更大，甚至还超过了过去5年中任何一届的规模。会议的主要魅力在于它展现的技术深度，新产品的广度和对电力电子行业的总体看法。

Once again the participation of numerous main exhibitors and represented companies from overseas (59% this year compared to last year’s 60%) underlines the high international standing enjoyed by PCIM Europe. The large number of companies from the USA, France, United Kingdom and Italy is particularly noteworthy. The number of new exhibitors is also worth mentioning: 19 additional main exhibitors at this year’s PCIM compared with 2006.

The international significance of the PCIM is also reflected in the visitor statistics. According to pre-registration figures, visitors from 48 countries are expected to attend the event.

PCIM Europe provides a compact overview of the sector from power electronics, components and sensors through to power management systems, simulation and design software, as well as many of the latest advances in the electronics sector.

Highlights of PCIM Europe 2007

ECPE Pavilion

A special highlight this year is the pavilion run by the ECPE (European Center for Power Electronics e.V. – the industrial and research network for power electronics in Europe) in hall12 (booth 466) – which together with leading European Centers of Excellence (university and research institutes) will be presenting its activities in the field of power electronics.

Jobs Forum

Semiconductor Careers Europe (Semica) on stand 544 (hall 12) will offer visitors and exhibitors a range of options for professional career planning and developing effective personnel policies. The employment forum will cover the whole electronics market and is aimed at both employers and employees. The jobs forum is again available on the PCIM homepage (click on the link to the Semica homepage). Here exhibitors can place ads and banners, as well as their company profiles.

Conference and Tutorials

The day before the exhibition a series of tutorials will help answer the key questions currently being posed in the power electronics sector. The most popular tutorial topics are “Advanced Design with MOSFET and IGBT Power Modules“ by Prof. Josef Lutz of TU Chemnitz, Germany and “Higher Efficiency Power Conversion through ‘Intelligent” Power Processing’” by Ionel Dan Jitaru of Delta Energy Systems, USA.

The 3-day conference will be held as usual in parallel with the PCIM Exhibition. Focusing on power electronics, intelligent motion and power quality/energy management, the conference programme comprises 150 previously unseen presentations given by speakers from 30 countries. With its emphasis on applications and practical issues, the conference offers the ideal environment to discuss the problems of today and tomorrow with colleagues from the research and development fields.
