  • The OM-WLS-TC is a wireless USB2.0 full-speed thermocouple inputmodule (fully compatible with bothUSB 1.1 and 2.0). The OM-WLS-TCprovides 8 differential thermocoupleinput channels. Eight independent,TTL compatible digital I/O channelsare provided to monitor TTL levelinputs, communicate with externaldevices and to generate alarms.The digital I/O channels are softwareprogrammable for input or output.The OM-WLS-TC supports Types J,K, T, E, N, R, S and B thermocouples.Two integrated cold junctioncompensation (CJC) sensors areincluded for thermocouplemeasurements. An openthermocouple detection featureallows detection of a brokenthermocouple. An onboardmicroprocessor automaticallylinearizes the measurement data.The OM-WLS-TC features 8independent temperature alarms.Each alarm controls an associateddigital I/O channel as an alarmoutput. The input to each alarm isone of the temperature channels.The output of each alarm issoftware configurable as active highor low. The temperature thresholdconditions to activate each alarmare software programmable. Whenan alarm is activated, theassociated digital output channel isdriven to the output state. Allconfigurable options are softwareprogrammable. The OM-WLS-TC isfully software-calibrated.

    The OM-WLS-TC can be operatedas a standalone plug-and-playdevice which draws power throughthe USB cable. The unit can also beoperated as a remote device thatcommunicates with the computerthrough the OM-WLS-IFC USB-towirelessinterface device. Anexternal power supply is shippedwith the device to provide powerduring remote operation.When operating as a remote device,the OM-WLS-TC communicateswith the computer through theOM-WLS-IFC device connected tothe computer’s USB port. Before theOM-WLS-TC can be operatedremotely, it needs to be connectedto the computer’s USB port and thenetwork parameters configured toestablish a wireless link with theinterface device.

    Only devices with the sameparameter settings cancommunicate with each other. Allconfigurable options are softwareprogrammable using the includedInstaCal™ utility software.LEDs on the OM-WLS-TCindicate the status ofcommunications over the wirelesslink. A LED bar graph shows thefade margin of signals receivedby the OM-WLS-TC.

    The OM-WLS-TC modules ship with an impressive array of software, including the new TracerDAQ®, a full-featured, out-of-the-box data logging, viewing, and analysis application. Driver support and detailed example programs are included for Universal Library programminglibraries for Microsoft® Visual Studio® programming languages, and otherlanguages, including DASYLab®, and ULx for NI LabVIEW® (comprehensivelibrary of VIs and example programs compatible with 32-bit and 64-bitLabVIEW v8.5 through 2012) and InstaCalTM installation, calibrationand test utility-powerful solutions for programmers and nonprogrammersalike. These modules operate under Microsoft Windows® XP (32-bit only) and VISTA/7/8 (32-bit and 64-bit) operating systems.
